Adventure Zone

What is bouldering?

Bouldering is rope-less climbing at low heights. When you fall, you will drop onto the ground, which we have padded with 8-12 inches of wood chips, or will fall onto a bouldering pad in certain sections of the wall that are more difficult and present a greater chance of falling.

Do I need special gear?

Climbing shoes and comfortable attire are all you need to get on the wall. Climbing shoes are available to rent for $5. You are welcome to use your own close-toed shoes on the wall at your own risk.

What should I wear?

Any athletic or loose-fitting clothing works great for bouldering. Jeans are not optimal for bouldering.

Anything I should do before my first visit?

We’re glad you asked! For convenience, please fill out our waiver. It will save you time and get you climbing as quickly as possible once you arrive.

Can I just show up or do I need an appointment?

No appointment necessary! Whether you have never climbed before or if you are a climbing veteran, just show up when we are open and someone will be here to help you. In the event that our climbing zone is at capacity, we will put you on a waiting list and will work to get you climbing as soon as we are able to. Find our Adventure Zone hours here.

Can anyone boulder?

Yes! no prior experience is needed to have a great time bouldering. For tips on having a successful, safe, and fun time, ask our Adventure Zone Staff and they will be happy to help you.

How old do you have to be?

We like to say, “If you can walk, you can climb!” But it varies from child to child. We do not allow children under 5 to participate in Adventure Zone activities. Children between ages 5 and 12 are required to be supervised by an adult who is ready to spot, and can ensure all rules are being followed.

Do I need a membership to climb at Tallulah Adventures?

No. Day passes are available, or memberships and punch cards can be purchased for multiple visits at a discounted rate. Find out more information on passes here. Passes are for an entire day, so if you want to step out and then come back, that’s no problem. Please be aware that if you leave and come back to the Adventure Zone and it is at capacity, you will have to wait your turn to get back into the Adventure Zone.

What is traversing?

Traversing is bouldering, but moving mostly sideways along the wall instead of climbing up. Our climbing wall is 120 feet long and great for traversing! See if you can make it all the way across without stepping down!

Is bouldering safe?

A German Study found that indoor rock climbing is safer than badminton, indoor sports, and much safer than contact sports. However, climbing can be dangerous if performed carelessly. Please adhere to our rules and safety tips for a fun and enjoyable experience.

Events & Weddings

How many guests can you accommodate?

Tallulah Adventures can comfortable accommodate 120 guests, including your wedding party, for a seated and plated dinner. For a cocktail-style reception, we can accommodate around X people. This number does not include your vendors.

Do you offer all-inclusive packages?

Our packages are semi-inclusive. A local vendor list is provided to brides. All caterers, DJs, florists, and any other vendors are hired individually by the couple/family.

What are your COVID-19 requirements?

Face coverings are not required at Tallulah Adventures, however, our COVID-19 Policy may change at any time based on CDC recommendations and guidelines. Please check with our staff for the most up-to-date information.

What is your payment plan?

Payments are made in two (2) installments: 1) a deposit due at signing/booking, and 2) the remaining balance due 45 days in advance of the event date.

Do you allow dogs to be in the wedding?

Dogs are allowed to be part of the wedding. However, we require all dogs to be leashed at all times, regardless of the size or breed.

Do you allow photography sessions (family, bridal, engagement, etc.)?

We do not allow any photography sessions that are not part of the signed event agreement.

What is your alcohol policy?

Do you offer an onsite coordinator to assist my vendors the day of?

Tallulah Adventures offers an onsite coordinator to assist with day-of tasks and vendor set-up.

Are there any items that are prohibited at the venue?

Fireworks, flaming lanterns, glitter, birdseed, firearms, and any illegal substances are strictly prohibited at the venue. This is not a fully inclusive list of prohibited items. Please inquire about any questionable or specialty items you would like to include in your event to verify its allowance.

Do you offer on-site lodging?

No lodging or accommodations are available at our venue. The “Get Ready Room” is available for the wedding party to get ready and rest during the day of your wedding. Locations and contacts for local lodging are included on our preferred vendors list and made available to couples at booking.

Can cars be left overnight?

No. Our venue is fully fenced and the gates are locked at 11:00 PM. All vehicles must be gone from the parking area at that time. All guests and vendors should be made aware that overnight parking is not available, so travel arrangements must be made ahead of time.

Do you allow early drop off of decorations, alcohol, etc.?

Items can be dropped off on the day of your wedding/event within the time frame you have agreed on at booking. If you require special accommodations or additional time, please discuss with Tallulah Adventures staff.

Can I come see the space?

Yes! We would be happy to give you a scheduled walk-through and answer any questions to help you make your decision to book. Once the space is booked, our team will be available for additional walkthroughs for you and your vendors.

How do I hold a date?

To hold a date, you need to contact our team. If the date is available, we will offer a 7-day soft hold while details are discussed and a contract is generated. A hold is not secure until a signed contract is returned with the required deposit. In the event that another party is interested in the venue before we receive these items, we will offer you a deadline to submit the contract and deposit before releasing the hold to the other party. If the date you request has an existing hold, we will offer the previous party a deadline and then contact you when the deadline is over.

What forms of payment do you take?

We accept cash, checks, and all major credit cards.

Are there any decorating restrictions?

Yes, you may only affix objects to the walls with painter’s tape or command strips. We do not allow the use of glitter, confetti, stickers, pushpins, or any other materials that can damage the walls.

Is smoking allowed?

No use of tobacco or vape products is allowed on the property at any time. Smoking is allowed in Tallulah Gorge State Park, which is adjacent to our property.

Is the venue ADA accessible?

Yes. Our pavilion, bar, and bathrooms are all ADA accessible.

Do you have games?

Yes! Ask our staff to check what games are available during your event.
